Ironman

Ironman 1.jpg

After 6 months of focused training with my partners for the single biggest race of my life, I found myself face to face with the wild elevation and extreme heat of the Utah summer. The temperature averaged above 90 degrees. The bike double climb was jawdropping.

And once the bike was finished, it was time to test if my legs had anything left to work with on the run.

I spent many long Florida afternoons climbing up and down bridges over the Intracoastal Waterway in preparation for what I knew was ahead. That Ironman mentality stretched far past afternoon rides and into my everyday life. I found myself waking up at dawn, always taking the stairs, and parking at the back of the parking lot to get in extra steps. All that work paid off in spades when I achieved my dream of embodying the Utah state slogan.
